Escape the hustle and bustle on your own 1,000-square-meter (10,764-square-foot) private island, in the heart of the Reeuwijkse Plassen. Wake up to the sunrise over the water and enjoy peace, nature, and complete privacy. With views of the lake all around, a cozy fireplace, and every comfort, this is the perfect place to truly recharge. Great for cyclists, hikers and nature lovers!The spaceOn the island, there is a charming and cozy cottage, equipped with every comfort for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, refrigerator, freezer, and a 4-burner stove, making it easy for you to cook your own meals.The bathroom has a rain shower and toilet. Thanks to the 100-liter water heater, there is plenty of hot water available.In the living area, you will find a luxurious, high-quality sofa bed (160 cm x 200 cm), specially designed for everyday use and therefore very comfortable to sleep on. In addition, there is a fireplace that adds to the ambiance. Firewood is available on the island for use (for a small fee). For warm days, there is air conditioning, and for colder periods, you can use an electric heater in addition to the wood-burning stove.What really makes this place special is the outdoor area and the view. On two sides of the cottage, there are French doors that provide direct access to the spacious terrace. Here, you will find several seating and lounge areas, so you can choose a nice spot at any time of the day. All around, you have unobstructed views over the water – a rare, peaceful, and unique experience.Several private jetties are available on the island. At one of the piers, there is a kayak that you can use free of charge to explore the area from the water.Fishing enthusiasts can bring their rods: there are private waters around the island where you can enjoy fishing.The cottage is designed so that you can fully enjoy the panoramic view over the water from virtually anywhere – the sofa, the bed, and the kitchen. To preserve this sense of openness, windows have been chosen over walls in a few places, including around the wood-burning stove. For safety reasons, no curtains have been installed here. As a result, not all windows can be fully darkened. However, thanks to the island’s secluded location, there are no prying eyes, and you will enjoy complete privacy. For added comfort, sleep masks are provided.Guest accessThe island is accessible via our property. Upon arrival, you will walk along the driveway past our house, where the route is clearly marked with signs.Go through a wooden door labeled “Ingang Eilandgeluk” (Eilandgeluk Entrance), then follow the signs through the garden. These will lead you to a footbridge of about 20 meters, which will take you directly to the private island.The island and the cottage are completely private for guests, so you can enjoy your stay in peace and quiet.Other things to noteIn our garden, there may be two dogs (an Australian Shepherd and a Pomeranian). These are friendly dogs that can sometimes be curious, but otherwise do not cause any nuisance.Before you enter the footbridge to the island, you pass through a gate. As a result, the dogs cannot come to the island.All prices include tourist tax.
